Thor Heyerdahl College shortlisted for Norwegian prize
Thor Heyerdahl College in Larvik with almost 28,000 square metres, 1,650 students and 300 staff is one of Norway’s largest sixth-form colleges, bringing together five schools from a broad spectrum of youth education programmes and creating interdisciplinary synergy, coherence and community.
According to the Norwegian website Byggeindustrien.no Leo Nyængen said on behalf of the jury that the nominated buildings are “very good candidates.”
The jury consists of Gustav Pillgram Larsen (Statens bygningstekniske etat), Sverre Tiltnes (Grønn Byggallianse), Ola Roald (arkitekt), Inger Margrete Skogseid (Kommunal- og regionaldepartementet), Jon Sandnes (Entreprenørforeningen – Bygg og Anlegg), Bjørn Erik Selnes (Vegdirektoratet), Per Helge Pedersen, (Byggeindustrien) and Leo Nygænen.
